The Legendary Yo-kai Medals are more difficult to come by and are required to get the Event Weapons.
There were thirteen at first, with four more added later.

Your first Weapon, like Minions, will be less expensive than future ones. Medal of Legends are awarded at a rate of 10% for the first weapon and 10% for each consecutive weapon through the seventeenth.
