Apple Announces New MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max Processors

The new MacBook Pro is the first to use Intel’s latest processors, which are meant for power efficient gaming. With this change in mind, Apple plans on using these chips in more of its computers and laptops moving forward.

Apple has unveiled a new MacBook Pro that has been entirely reinvented. The new MacBook Pro, which comes in 14- and 16-inch sizes, is the first to use Apple’s new pro processors, the M1 Pro and M1 Max, which have up to a 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and performance that’s up to 70% quicker than the previous generation. Apple’s new MacBook Pro models will be released on October 26, 2021, starting at $1,999.

M1 Pro takes M1’s ground-breaking architecture to new heights. M1 Pro has a strong up-to-10-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores, as well as a powerful up-to-16-core GPU that offers up to 70% faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than M1. M1 Pro additionally supports up to 32GB of fast unified memory and has a memory capacity of up to 200GB/s, about three times that of M1. M1 Pro has a ProRes accelerator in the media engine, allowing for lightning-fast and energy-efficient video processing.
