Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection was a successful launch on Nintendo Switch. It sold over 1 million units and became the fastest selling game in the history of Nintendo. Ubisoft is now planning to expand their lineup with even more Assassin’s Creed games for next gen consoles, PC, and mobile devices.;

The “ezio collection” is a successful leap of faith on Nintendo Switch. This game has been highly anticipated and it lived up to the hype. The game features a new way to play with a brand new story. It also includes all the previous games in the series, including Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, Revelations and 3D Classics: Ezio Trilogy.

Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection - A Successful Leap Of Faith On Nintendo Switch

REVIEW – After fifteen years in the production, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has made a lasting impression on many players and has established itself as one of the most popular video game franchises. While many debate which of the Assassin’s Creed games is the finest, one stands out: Assassin’s Creed II and its fascinating protagonist, Ezio Auditore. And that’s a good thing, since Ubisoft has opted to bring the Don Juan trilogy to the Nintendo Switch. Is this game, however, faithful to the franchise? That will have to wait and see.

Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations are included in the Ezio Collection, which is already available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The three games chronicle the exploits of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a carefree young man from an affluent family who is a womaniser in his spare time, as the collection’s name indicates. When he learns that his family is implicated in a global struggle between the Templars and the Assassins, everything changes. Ezio assumes the garb of his ancient fraternity to hunt down the Templars and recapture the priceless Apples of Eden from Florence to Constantinople and Rome. However, as fans of the Assassin’s Creed series know, these games do more than merely transport you back in time. Desmond Miles is also followed as he is forced to relive the memories of his Assassin forefather Ezio. His integrity is jeopardized as he switches back and forth between the past and the present. This trilogy has two complicated storylines that serve as the foundation for the whole narrative.

First and foremost, a brief remark on the content is required. This compilation contains all three portions of the Ezio tale (Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations), as previously stated. These are not merely anecdotal episodes in the series, for people unfamiliar with the franchise. Ezio is still one of the most popular assassins among gamers. Many people believe Assassin’s Creed II to be the finest installment in the series. If there is a trilogy worth examining, this is it (even 13 years later). The very least that can be claimed is that something has to be done. The major storylines of the three opuses take roughly 45 hours to finish. You may even prolong the collection’s lifetime beyond 100 hours if you desire 100 percent performance.

Almost all of them, at all levels.

This collection includes all DLC as well as extra goodies (weapons and unique costumes). This means additional material and new experiences with historical personalities like Leonardo da Vinci are possible. Lineage and Embers are also included in the compilation if you wish to understand more about the Assassin’s Creed world. These two written works (one a short film, the other a cartoon) provide a few extra details to let you fully immerse yourself in the world of Assassins.

There’s no need to be upset about the absence of multiplayer modes or new features, however. In terms of substance, the game is exactly as it was back then. There won’t be any surprises. So, unless you’re letting nostalgia force you open your pocketbook, there’s little reason in acquiring this collection if you’ve already played these three games. It’s still fun to go back to your beginnings with a license that has evolved a lot since then. Especially because this version is a beautiful homage to the original trilogy.

A visually appealing port

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection provides a seamless and wonderfully translated graphics experience despite the console’s limitations. The images are impressive, whether in handheld or docked mode. The sceneries are stunning, the streets are bustling, and only the character faces are visually outdated. This is especially appealing in Assassin’s Creed II, which has more nuanced colors, textures, and lighting than the original. Furthermore, the whole experience is really fluid, making it even better on Nintendo’s system. There is no frame rate loss, and the few issues we observed were present in prior versions of the collection.

When compared to the previous version, there are a few modest enhancements. Small nuances that we enjoy, even if they don’t make a significant difference in the overall experience. To make it simpler to read, the HUD has been optimized for the console. This collection also makes use of the Switch’s touchscreen interface and various settings, allowing you to get the most out of the redesigned visuals regardless of whether you’re in portable or docked mode.

Unsurprisingly, this Nintendo Switch port falls short of the previously available PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions: the viewing distance is shorter, and antialiasing and other graphical flaws are present. Even though this port is excellent for the console, it is still suggested that you use the older versions if at all feasible. But don’t worry if you don’t have one: the Switch’s visuals aren’t bad and shouldn’t create any issues.

Size

To download the complete collection (including the audio bundle) at once, you’ll need an SD card. The entire size of the game is 35 GB (all assuming that the Nintendo Switch comes with a 32 GB slot by default).

Assassin’s Creed II was released about 13 years ago, as previously stated. Although this opus had superb playability at the time of its debut, it has now become outdated. There are climbing problems, more than basic fighting, and poor AI (particularly when it comes to recognizing Ezio while he’s standing right next to you)… From our current vantage point, the game is riddled with glitches that may be really aggravating. They may even compel you to put down your console, depending on your sensitivities. However, if you’re not afraid of this kind of game or are naturally patient, it’s worth persisting for a time to become accustomed to it. Especially because Brotherhood and Revelations have much less of these issues.

Nonetheless, we might be disappointed by the lack of progress in this area. We anticipated more from the remasters of the original titles, even with the 2016 Ezio Collection for PS4 and Xbox One. A slight tweak here and there would have made these titles more manageable, not to mention a few other minor aspects. In conclusion, this collection required a bit more attention in order to be valued at its full worth today. However, this rendition is still a fantastic method to learn about this crucial aspect of the story.

“We can confidently launch onto the Switch version,” says the author.

In the end, when compared to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions, this port has nothing to be embarrassed of. Ubisoft has provided us with a high-quality Switch version that has held up nicely. The cities of Florence, Rome, and Constantinople are visually appealing and a joy to explore on Nintendo’s platform. Of course, if you have a PC, PS4, or Xbox One, these versions are preferable. If the Switch is your lone console and you’ve never played these classic games, this compilation is a must-have. The Ezio Collection for Nintendo Switch is a nice surprise that will keep you entertained for hundreds of hours – if you’re not afraid that this legendary trilogy has, in fact, aged.

Pro:

+ Despite the console’s limitations, the conversion was successful + There was a lot of material + Surprisingly excellent visuals

Against:

– We had hoped for more from the remaster – There’s a lot of stuff — but the gameplay is becoming old (especially in AC II)
